Sponsored by the Ontario Chinese Artists Association/OCAA, the “2021 Annual International Children’s Art Contest” continues during the pandemic. A total of 117 works have been received. The review has been completed a few days ago and will be displayed online later.
This competition has been held for more than ten years, with the purpose of enlightening children’s beautiful hearts, and providing opportunities for communication and display. Participants are all children of all ethnicities in the world under the age of 16, divided into four groups for judging.
This year’s jury includes President Jordan Wu, Vice President Ken Chui, and art tutor Yau-Cheung Lui. They have selected 7 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals from the 117 entries.
President Jordan Wu said: “Due to the global pandemic, many art classes are affected. It is not easy to receive 117 entries. We are very happy. The high standard of the works shows that the teachers and students are not slacking off. The turn out is encouraging. ”
The entries are from other cities in Ontario, as well as Hong Kong, China and Malaysia. Local winners will be notified and certificates of overseas winners will also be sent out at the same time.
There will be no on-site award presentation and exhibition this year. People may visit www.ocaa.info or You Tube to enjoy all works of this year and review the past exhibitions and award ceremonies.

由加拿大安省中國美術會主辦，「2021國際兒童繪畫比賽」在疫情中繼續舉行，總共收到117件作品，日前評審工作完成，稍後在網上展出。
此國際兒童繪畫比賽舉辦了十多年，宗旨為啟迪孩子們美的心靈、培養創新及鑑賞能力，提供交流及展示的機會。參加者都為16歲以下世界各族裔少年兒童，分四組進行評審。
今年的評審團包括會長伍川宇、副會長徐啟明及美術導師呂祐章。他們在117張參賽作品中選出金獎7名、銀獎12名，及銅獎19名。另有優秀獎及入選獎等。
會長伍川宇說: 「由於環球疫情，許多美術課程都受影響。能夠收到117張參賽作品，很不容易，我們很歡喜。而且作品水準很高，說明老師和同學們都沒懈怠，確實鼓舞。」
參賽作品除來自本地多倫多外，有來自安省其他城市，還有中國香港及馬來西亞。本地得獎者的獎狀及獎牌將於9月中通知領取，海外得獎者獎狀亦同時寄出。
